My Story

I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, and after seven years on the east coast, I have moved back and now operate out of my hometown.

I have always loved writing and creating stories. I got my start in editing by beta-reading fanfiction on AO3. After realizing how much I enjoyed it, I applied for a certificate in editing at the University of Washington and decided to pursue freelancing.

Before becoming an editor, I was a dental assistant for close to a decade. I even went to dental school to become a doctor, but realized during the program that my true passion lies in writing and creating stories, so I decided to make a career-change, and I’m so glad I did!

During my free time I enjoy reading and writing (of course) and spending time with my friends and family. Always an indoor kid at heart, I love video games and a good tv show and staying inside away from the elements.

As an editor, my passion lies in creating rich, complex characters and engaging, thought-provoking stories. I love beautiful prose and simple, direct language alike. I believe every story has potential and every voice deserves to be heard.

I’m so excited to work with you and delighted you’re here!

FAQs

Do you have favorite things to edit?
Yes! I especially love short fiction works with elements like romance, low fantasy, LGBTQ+ themes, women’s stories, and character driven pieces. But I also love trying new things, and do not limit which projects I take on by genre or personal interests.

Do you edit explicit content?
I have no issues taking on projects that have explicit violence or sexual content. However I do have boundaries regarding certain elements including non-con or gratuitous gore. If you have a concern regarding certain themes in your story, please contact me with specific questions.

Are you trained in any particular publication styles?
Yes, I am trained in Chicago and APA.
